ENVIRONMENTAL AND SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
The environment and sustainability are very important to us. We’re committed to the ongoing ethical and sustainable treatment of the environment and communities in which we operate. Graphitecture knows the best way for us to reduce our impact upon the environment is to improve our products, technology, our systems. We challenge our business partners and clients to use more environmental products and we are constantly exploring new material options.
We continually monitor our production processes to ensure we take an environmentally responsible approach to delivering large format graphics - but, by their very nature, large format printing uses large volumes and sometimes generates large volumes of media waste. This is even more apparent in the events sector, where the short term use of materials is unfortunately unavoidable. However, Graphitecture is committed to the re-use of materials where possible - including wooden frames, aluminium extrusions, MDF walls, wooden stage supports etc. By re-using these components at least once it ultimately halves their carbon footprint each time they are re-used!
Graphitecture is also registered with the Environmental Agency and we are committed to recycle as much waste material as possible, whether that’s the backing paper from vinyl once the graphics are installed or recycling plastics, PVC, acrylics, and other printed materials after their removal.
We are fully committed to reducing waste across all our business operations and supply chain and have identified which waste streams can be responsibly disposed, recycled or re-purposed as appropriate. And many of our suppliers are equally as committed and many have been awarded the ISO14001 Environmental Certification by introducing innovative methods of recycling used, waste and unused materials. Many of our production processes now use friendlier inks such as eco solvent, latex, UV and water based inks, which are certified to the Nordic Swan Environmental Standard.
